And. . . behind the scenes there are many, many others who diligently assist with this event!
Some are on the phone constantly, in order to line up the hundreds of volunteers whose help is vital at the Fair each year.
Others are fielding calls for the slo-pitch tournament.
Yet another, is constantly updating the website with the non-stop incoming data.
Many are preparing food stuffs for the Friday night street party.
Somebody offers to pick up the generator.
Another provides transportation for the acrobats.
One business supplies us with a temporary 'Command Centre'.
A church gives us their keys so we may access their facility for the entertainers' change rooms.
A few are gathering willing hands to help clean the meessy street late at night after the party is over.
Countless ladies prepare and donate gallons of delicious borscht.
Others put these ideas to paper so you can find out what's up.
Some go door to door, or even town to town, promoting our event.
While yet anoter uses her valuable time between family, job, school (endless exams. . . and life) to seek out financial support without which this event would be dead in the water.
There are some who take the day off work on Fair Friday to help with the massive job of getting the street ready.
The town employees take on extra tasks to ensure Main Street looks its best.
There are big jobs and little jobs involved with this huge undertaking, and there's a huge amount of community support to meet the challange!
We appreciate that everyone in the community tolerates minor inconveniences associated with our event. For example, individuals' patience with the street closure and the interruption of customer traffic that our corporate sponsors experience. We hope our efforts pay dividens for the other 363 days of the year, and continue to make this community a better place to live!
Thanks to you all! |
